The Farm Dog: The Dog in the Manger

Once upon a time, nestled near a vast forest, there was a quaint village that was home to a bustling cow farm. The farm owner, wanting to keep his cows safe from the wild animals in the forest, decided to bring a dog into their family.

The dog, however, started to believe that he was superior to all the cows. One day, when the farmer brought straw from his fields for the cows to eat, the dog decided to assert his dominance. As soon as the farmer left, the dog jumped onto the pile of straw and declared, “I am the superior one here. You may not eat until I give you permission.”

The cows, hungry and confused, tried to approach the food, but the dog barked loudly at them, stopping them in their tracks. After a while, the farmer heard the commotion and came rushing back to the cows. He saw the situation and, understanding what was happening, took a long stick and gently scolded the dog.

From that day forward, the dog learned a valuable lesson about respect and humility, and the farm returned to its peaceful state. The cows could eat their meals in peace, and the dog learned to protect them without asserting false superiority. And they all lived happily ever after.

Moral of the Story: “True superiority is not about dominance, but about respect and humility towards all.”
